Paranormal Hat Men and Friends

Exploring Paranormal Evidence Through Photographic Analysis

I’ve been a writer, photographer and videographer for many years, starting off in film and darkroom in both 35mm, Medium Format and Underwater Specialties. Since 2019, I’ve become interested in Paranormal Phenomena and, in an attempt to confirm or debunk photographic images, I discovered how often Hat Men appear as entities by themselves of related to all forms of paranormality. This includes ghosts, demons, cryptids, UFOs, interdimensional entities, orbs, mists, apparitions and others. I joined several Facebook groups devoted to sharing these experiences and evidence, but became dissatisfied with the negativity and dismissiveness of many of the group members. Many were curious, open-minded and encouraging and, rather than continually dealing with the haters who only want to see incontrovertible proof (which they then scoff at as Photoshopped or CGI or simply hoaxed), I decided to create a space to explore the evidence I find through editing the exposure levels without the drama.

Welcome to the page! Haters, Debunkers and Scoffers can find other venues to express their views. Skeptics are welcome if they can provide a descriptive rationale as to why they think the evidence is natural rather than paranormal in origin, not just “It’s dust! It’s your imagination! You just want to see what isn’t there!” “It’s a reflection!” “It’s pareidolia!” “I’m a professional paranormal investigator and a medium and your evidence doesn’t meet my high standard!”

I got tired of it. It was tedious and I couldn’t hope to change the opinion of these yahoos and tried too many times with disappointing results. Hence, a blog where I can post and explain the process without the drama queen skepticism.

This blog will give me a chance to describe what’s going on in our reality that I had dismissed for a long time as “Woo-Woo” para-science. As we begin to learn more about quantum theory, multiple dimensions, and many worlds interpretations of the Heisenberg Uncertainly Principle, many more options are becoming available to understand our place in the universe beyond what is available to the senses evolution has given us to survive on Earth.

As Shakespeare once said through the voice of Hamlet, “There are more things on Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophies.” By philosophies, he meant science. William forgot to mention Hell in this dreaming as portals, demons as well as deceased and negative human spirits are part of this exploration. One of my favorite writers, Douglas Adams, in his “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Universe” asked what was The Meaning of Life, The Universe, and Everything. Maybe we can dig together to find out the answer to the question beyond “42.”

First, we need to know the right questions to ask.

I’ve worked as a sports, wedding and school photographer, but my interests were in nature and underwater photography and videography. I left the field when, after purchasing all my 35mm, Medium Format, Underwater and Darkroom equipment, the field went digital. I continue with photography only as a hobby secondary to my writing. Paranormal image analysis is something new and I started experimenting with in 2019 after becoming a believer when I accidentally found Kent Burris’ “Ghosts of Carmel Maine” YouTube channel.

I went back to university study after giving up on a B.S. in Marine Biology (I couldn’t get through the calculus requirements) and progressed through my A.A. Degree in Liberal Arts and Sports Coaching (certificate), to my B.A. in a double major of Creative Writing and English Education, through all but the final student teaching requirements of a Single Subject Credential Program in High School English when I was recruited to a Master’s of Fine Art Theater Arts: Dramatic Writing program. After a disastrous first year in the new program (the program was almost immediately discontinued due to lead professor indiscretions), I transferred to an Interdisclipinary Studies M.A. program in Film and Electronic Arts and English. The subtitle of my M.A. is listed as “Digital Rhetoric and Memetic Theory.” My thesis was on Electracy, Intentism and Memetics.

I have published several conference papers and have had my photographs published in USA Today, Recreational Figure Skating Magazine and a book about police vehicles. I had been pursuing a career as a screenwriter with a Certificate in Screenwriting from UCLA-Extension, but gave that up when I realized the best movies were not from speculative screenplays, but short stories and novels and, now, comic books. I am currently outlining a paranormally-themed novel. I am often cited for my writing on the opiate crisis and the ensuing hysteria that has hurt many chronic pain patients.

My life experience has been diverse prior to returning to finish my educational path. I’ve worked with dolphins on trying to understand how they use language at the University of Hawaii. I’ve been an ambulance driver/EMT, a respiratory therapist, a police dispatcher, a scuba diver for a large aquarium, kayak surf instructor and guide, divemaster, as well as a freelance writer and photographer. I’ve even had a few, small gigs as an actress after studying at conservatory at Chapman University and the H.B. Studios in New York City.

I’m from coastal Connecticut, but I’ve lived in the Los Angeles area from 1979 to today. I currently live in the city of Long Beach, home to the haunted Queen Mary. I’m married to my high school sweetheart and count three cats and two golden retrievers as my “fur babies.”

I don’t consider myself to be a psychic medium but I am a Highly Sensitive Person as described by Elaine Aron in her book of the same name. I will be discussing the idea of being a “sensitive” (some say “empath”) as part of my ability to see the Hat Men in paranormal evidence because of my frustration of the commenters who very often they “can’t see anything” when the entities are perfectly clear to me and some others.

What You Do

Currently, I take screenshots of paranormal evidence I’ve seen on YouTube, Facebook and Reddit, and privately from group members by request, and use the iPhone “Photos” app to adjust the exposure levels to confirm or deny paranormality. I started by looking for evidence of image hoaxes (CGI or Photoshop) and was amazed how often that was NOT the case. I’m just starting familiarize myself with Photoshop and DaVinci Resolve video editing software. I am hoping to apply single image editing revelations to video to see track the entities.
